Why was jinnytty suspended from Twitch?

On July 12, 2018, Twitch user “jinnytty” was suspended for 12 months for “repeatedly and intentionally disrupting the conversation in the chat”. In suspending jinnytty, Twitch stated that “his behavior is unacceptable and does not reflect the Twitch community’s values”. There is no one answer to why jinnytty was suspended from Twitch. However, several reasons can be proposed as to why his behavior was considered unacceptable by Twitch. First and foremost, jinnytty’s repeated disruptions of the chat indicated that he did not have respect for other users and did not care about engaging in a meaningful conversation. Additionally, his behavior appeared to be motivated by personal gain – he repeatedly interrupted other users in order to attract attention and build up his follower count. Finally, jinnytty’s suspension highlighted the importance of maintaining a respectful and civil online presence – no matter what the provocation.
